GORAN GORŠE

Goran Gorše (1985., Zagreb) is professor and  artistic director of the Sudar Percusion Ensemble. During his studies he improved and perfected his skills attending numerous international and regional seminars, with renowned Croatian as well as international music pedagogists: I. Lešnik, N. Rosauro, J.Beck, L. Albert, B. Bacanu, to name but a few. As a member of a student percussion ensemble Bing Bang Goran took part in percussion festivals in Spain, France, Austria, Belgium, USA, Taiwan, etc. As a student he received the City of Zagreb Education Scholarship and he was presented with awards at many competitions – among many, especially distinguished are the Rector’s Award and the award for the best student percussion ensemble PASIC in 2004. His first experiences as a professional musician Goran Gorše gained still attending the Academy, in great orchestras such as Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra as well as in chamber string ensembles. He graduated from the Academy in 2006, under Professor Ivana Bilić. Since 2006, Goran theaches percussion in Music School „Ferdo Livadić“ in Samobor and Music School Brežice.

So far he has given numerous concerts with internationally acclaimed percussionists: Ivana Bilić, Ney Rosauro, Rachel Xi Zang, Paolo Cimmino, Dane Richeson, to name but a few.

He also achived a great sucess in his pedagogical work in shaping the young generation of top percussionists, who achieved outstanding results in competitions at home and abroad. His work in the field of music pedagogy has been greatly recognized by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, Croatian Association of Music and Dance Pedagogists (HDGPP), Zagreb County, as well as by the City of Samobor. In 2009, together with a worldwide recognized marimba soloist Ivana Bilić, he founded an annual international seminar for percussionists „Ivana Bilić Marimba Week“ (IBMW), the result of which was an immediate popularization and promotion of percussion instruments in Croatia. Also, since 2016, Goran writes music for the project Poetry to go where cooperates with Sonja Zubović, the author of the project and croatian actor Robert Kurbaša.

In 2010 he founded a percussion ensemble SUDAR, and has been it´s artistic director since. The ensemble gathers some of Goran´s most successful former students.
