About the project
The Power of Percussion in an Acoustic Version
The acoustic version of the Sudar Percussion Trio, led by artistic director Goran Gorše, features works by Croatian composers as well as arrangements by Croatian arrangers of existing foreign percussion literature. Along with the intriguing percussion instrumentation and a concert program lasting 70 minutes (including compositions by Piazzolla, Sejourne, Kabiljo, Kuljerić Bilić, Trevino, Živković, and others), the Sudar ensemble, with its acoustic appeal and the virtuosity of its musicians, does not deviate from the grand multimedia percussion projects typically associated with Sudar Percussion.
The project includes two marimbas, a vibraphone, concert bass drum, bongos, cajón, snare drums, and other smaller percussion instruments. Several Croatian composers, such as Olja Dešić, Aleksandar Vešić, Tomislav Oliver, Ivana Kuljerić, and others, have written works specifically for the trio.
