Explosion of Rhythm and Tradition
The project Folk & Roll represents a unique collaboration between Sudar Percussion and the vocal ensemble Singrlice. The eponymous album, recorded under the Croatia Records label, won the prestigious Porin Music Award in 2023 in the category of Best Ethno Album, a testament to its quality and innovation.
This collaboration brought a fresh and playful energy to traditional folk standards, with a dynamic approach that culminated in almost experimental arrangements. In these, classical percussion instruments were partially replaced by sounds of sand and farming tools, creating a unique soundscape that blends tradition with modern elements. This project not only celebrates ethno music but also marks an innovative step toward new musical expressions.
