Filip Merčep is a renowned Croatian percussionist known for his versatility and creativity. He began his career as a finalist in the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in 2010, and since then, he has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Ivo Vuljević Award for the best young musician and the Porin Award for the best interpretation of classical music.
He graduated in percussion from the Music Academy in Zagreb and furthered his studies at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. He collaborates with Katarzyna Mycka in the Marimba Quartet and is a professor at her academy. As a member of the Sudar Percussion ensemble, he participates in innovative projects that combine acoustic instruments, electronics, and ethnic music
He founded the DigitalTwin duo, where he develops projects at the intersection of music, artificial intelligence, and video games. Their project “Video Gaming with Art” attracted over 3,000 visitors across Croatia. Filip is active as a lecturer, organizes a summer marimba seminar, and promotes Croatian music while inspiring new generations of musicians.
